A belated merry Christmas to all my xanga friends!!!!
It's been a busy season for us; busier than normal. This year, hubby and I decided to stay in Virginia because we closed on our new home on Dec. 19th! Yay!!! We love our new house and are thankful that God has provided us with such a beautiful home. We really want to use it to bless others...that includes YOU, my friends...so if you're ever in the area (or if you're in the area) our door will always be open to you.
Anyhoo, Christmas was bittersweet because we really "enjoyed" (if you can say that about unpacking/cleaning/lining cabinet shelves) being in our new home, but we really missed being at home with our wonderful families and seeing our beloved west coast friends. We're now counting on all of them to come and visit us to relieve our home sickness (hint hint).
As I mentioned in a previous post, for Christmas we got each other a washer/dryer. It's wonderful. Seriously. The steamwash feature is amazing. Part of my lobbying efforts included the argument that Tom wouldn't have to take his shirts to the drycleaners anymore...and while the steamwash feature doesn't take all the wrinkles out, it makes it really conducive to quick ironing. I used to hate ironing, but it's actually quite enjoyable now - the instant gratification as you smooth out that shirt...wowee...but, I digress...
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the new year. As always, I will resolve to be more consistent in my daily walk with God, be a better wife, daughter, sister, and friend, eat healthier, continue exercising, and all that good stuff. But, it really will be a new year for me...in a new house and in a new position at the DOT! Yep, I'm moving jobs again...this time, to my "dream" job - a legislative-oriented job. For those of you who don't know, I went to law school because of my time working for Senator Kyl, and I've always wanted to return to legislative work...so here I go! It's still an attorney position, but more focused on policy. It's the best of both worlds.
So, I have much to be thankful for this year. God has been more than good to me and Tom; although everything has not worked the way we thought it would, He has answered our every prayer in His way, in His time. I'm thankful for my dear dear partner in life, my wonderful parents, my beautiful sisters, my handsome brother, tom's swell family, and all my extraordinary friends. I'm a lucky gal.
