    SUN?!?!?!*

*Lakers fans...I reserve the right to delete your comments.  :)  I have to say, I LOVE Shawn Marion...it makes me sad.  I've been on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster between excited and sad....

"That may be all the Suns need to pursue a title. Many will question whether the Suns need a bloated has-been in the middle when they excel at a revved-up game. Those doubts are legitimate. However, remember that in the 1980s Kareem Abdul-Jabbar managed to lumber up and down the court while his Laker teammates zoomed by in Showtime splendor, and that worked out fairly well.

Shaq doesn’t have to run the floor and keep up. He has to stand in the middle on defense and dissuade drivers to the hoop while challenging shots. He also has to catch lightning-quick feeds from Steve Nash and slam the ball home. That’s it. He can still do that limited role better than 90 percent of the guys at his position. He’ll adjust to the Suns, and the Suns will adjust to him."

  • A belated merry Christmas to all my xanga friends!!!!

It's been a busy season for us; busier than normal.  This year, hubby and I decided to stay in Virginia because we closed on our new home on Dec. 19th!  Yay!!!  We love our new house and are thankful that God has provided us with such a beautiful home.  We really want to use it to bless others...that includes YOU, my friends...so if you're ever in the area (or if you're in the area) our door will always be open to you.

Anyhoo, Christmas was bittersweet because we really "enjoyed" (if you can say that about unpacking/cleaning/lining cabinet shelves) being in our new home, but we really missed being at home with our wonderful families and seeing our beloved west coast friends.  We're now counting on all of them to come and visit us to relieve our home sickness (hint hint).

As I mentioned in a previous post, for Christmas we got each other a washer/dryer.  It's wonderful.  Seriously.  The steamwash feature is amazing.  Part of my lobbying efforts included the argument that Tom wouldn't have to take his shirts to the drycleaners anymore...and while the steamwash feature doesn't take all the wrinkles out, it makes it really conducive to quick ironing.  I used to hate ironing, but it's actually quite enjoyable now - the instant gratification as you smooth out that shirt...wowee...but, I digress...

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the new year.  As always, I will resolve to be more consistent in my daily walk with God, be a better wife, daughter, sister, and friend, eat healthier, continue exercising, and all that good stuff.  But, it really will be a new year for me...in a new house and in a new position at the DOT!  Yep, I'm moving jobs again...this time, to my "dream" job - a legislative-oriented job.  For those of you who don't know, I went to law school because of my time working for Senator Kyl, and I've always wanted to return to legislative work...so here I go!  It's still an attorney position, but more focused on policy.  It's the best of both worlds.

So, I have much to be thankful for this year.  God has been more than good to me and Tom; although everything has not worked the way we thought it would, He has answered our every prayer in His way, in His time.  I'm thankful for my dear dear partner in life, my wonderful parents, my beautiful sisters, my handsome brother, tom's swell family, and all my extraordinary friends.  I'm a lucky gal.

  • announcing the arrival of our twins...

    the LG steamwasher!

    lg

and her brother, the LG electric dryer!

    lg2

aren't they beautiful?  yes, they are expensive...but they were consumer report's top pick and they're korean, like us.  hahaha!  (one of the features i'm looking forward to is a supposed pleasant song/ringtone played at the end of the wash/dry - our current GE dryer makes this awful sound that sounds like a dying cat and i start getting anxious everytime i know the drying cycle is about to end.  you gotta hand it to the koreanos, they love their "pretty" things.)

i feel a little guilty, but when i was looking at prices, we weren't spending that much more than other front-loaders because we got a great deal and great financing terms at home depot...i love home depot.  merry christmas to us! (yes, tom got me the washer, i got him the dryer...i know, i know...we've gotten to the point where we gift household items to each other...we're old. )  we didn't get the pedestals...too expensive!  but i'm so super happy!  (seriously, i'm depressing myself over how happy i am about a washer/dryer.)

i'm going to have to name them.  any suggestions?
